It’s a story about Emily, her family and book club friends. Emily is a fifty-something widow, whose life changes, when she calls for a chimney sweep after the smokey accident at the book club meeting. She didn’t  search for love, but sometimes love just comes to your life unexpectedly. The book follows the lives of different women and their problems in life that are very realistic and relatable.

At first I was a little concerned about the fact that there are a lot of characters to follow, but it flowed very nicely and didn’t confuse at all. It was a well written book and I liked how each chapter was about different character and in the end it all tied together. I enjoyed reading it and would definitely recommend it.

A Very Vintage ChristmasTitle: A Very Vintage Christmas

Series: An Unforgettable Christmas #1

Author: Tilly Tennant

Release Date: September 28th 2017

Pages: 285

Genre: Women’s Fiction, Chick Lit, Romance, Christmas

The fairy lights are up and shoppers are flooding the snowy seaside promenade. It’s going to be a busy month at Forget-Me-Not Vintage, a magical shop with a warm heart where every item has a story to be told.

With bright red hair and an infectious smile, Dodie is a hopeless romantic and absolutely one of a kind, just like the pieces in her shop.

When Dodie finds a love letter in the pocket of an old woollen coat, she makes it her mission to deliver it to its rightful owner. Following the address, she manages to persuade the handsome but reluctant new tenant, Edward, to help her with her search.

As the story of the letter unfolds, Dodie is there, as always, to pick up the pieces and make things right. But who will be there for her when her own love story needs a helping hand?

Is it too much to dream of a happy ending like the ones in the black and white movies she adores?

Dodie owns a vintage store and when she finds a letter in the pocket of an old coat, she decides to find the owner of the letter. The address on the envelope leads her to a man called Edward. Ed wants to help Dodie and together they’ll try work out the solution to find  the owner of the letter. Spending a lot of time together makes them get to know each other more and the feelings are slowly growing, even though Dodie has a boyfriend and Ed’s past is still lingering in the present. Dodie has to figure out to whom her heart belongs and also solve the letter mystery.

I very much enjoyed reading  about Dodie’s life, it was a beautifully written Christmas story with a little bit of the mystery in it. I loved how the plot slowly built up the background for the second book and I’m definitely looking forward to reading that one as well. I think the vintage store setting was unique and perfectly fitted with Dodie’s personality and interests. A beautiful story that has a beautiful cover.

In a gorgeous Cornish village, two brokenhearted people fall head over heels. But can the magic of Conwenna Cove heal the hurts of the past?

Eve has a glittering career, a loving husband and a future. But a terrible twist of fate means she loses it all, and with nowhere left to turn she flees to her Aunt Mary’s home in Cornwall. The last thing on her mind is romance – until she meets Jack.

Jack has seen the worst things people can do to each other and realised he is better off alone. He settles in Conwenna Cove, and saves his affections for the rescue dogs he cares for. But when Eve arrives in the village he can’t deny his attraction to her.

Eve and Jack are both scared to trust, but when they come together it’s impossible for either to ignore their feelings. Can they put their fears aside and learn to love again?

When Eve falls ill during the meeting and ends up in the hospital for a check up, she doesn’t have a choice and has to slow down, she can’t continue overworking and burying all her problems inside without giving herself time to rest and heal. Eve’s parents live in Italy, so her only other choice is to go visit her aunt Mary at Cornwall. Eve has been so busy with work and life that she hasn’t seen her aunt in a while, but she welcomes her with open arms. She has only fond memories of  the summers she spent in Cornwall. During her stay Eve meets Jack, who is Mary’s neighbor and helps her in the garden or where ever she needs help, he also helps out at a greyhound rescue center. Eve and Jack are both brokenhearted and in time they’ll help each other heal the wounds from the past.

I really enjoyed reading this well written story that has a great characters, stunning setting and delightful story. I loved how Eve and Jack found their way to each other as well as aunt Mary, who is the loveliest lady ever. All in all it was a brilliant book and I’d definitely recommend it.
