Title: One Week to the Wedding
Series: Misty Point #1
Author: Olivia Miles
Release Date: June 13th 2017
Genre: Women’s Fiction, Romance
Kate Daniels couldn’t be more excited to be planning her best friend’s wedding…in theory.
Lately, just thinking about gowns and centerpieces makes her want to hide under the covers with her dog and a good book –one that doesn’t include a romantic plot, thank you very much. Maybe it’s because her fiancé cheated. Or maybe it’s because he cheated with her younger sister, Charlotte. Or maybe it’s because her newfound reputation as jilted wedding planner isn’t exactly doing wonders for her career.
Charlotte knows she messed up. Big time. But she also knows something Kate doesn’t-something that might bring them close again, if her sister will ever take her calls. But as time passes and silence grows, Charlotte begins to realize she can’t hide from her problems forever, and that sometimes the only place to run is home.
With the wedding only a week away, Kate expects a few surprises. But what she doesn’t expect is to find herself believing…in the strength of family, and the possibility of finding love again.
Kate is planning her best friend’s wedding and she wants it to be perfect. Kate’s life hasn’t been a bed of roses-she’s working hard, but her boss still has some sort of grudge against her and when she was planning her own wedding, she was jilted by her fiancee, who cheated on her with her own sister. Time has passed, but her sister’s betrayal still hurts and it doesn’t help that people in the town are trying not to upset Kate, when the weddings topic comes up. Kate is trying to show that everything is under control, but sometimes some things take time to heal. When things seem to get better, Kate’s life becomes messy again- her sister starts to search contact with her and the workaholic best man gives her a headache, even though there’s an attraction between them.
It was a sweet and engaging story about love, betrayal, misunderstandings, devotion and friendship. I found the characters well developed and the story well written, I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
