Madeline Whittier is allergic to the outside world. So allergic, in fact, that she has never left the house in all of her seventeen years. But when Olly moves in next door, and wants to talk to Maddie, tiny holes start to appear in the protective bubble her mother has built around her. Olly writes his IM address on a piece of paper, shows it at her window, and suddenly, a door opens. But does Maddie dare to step outside her comfort zone?
Madeline is allergic to everything, so she can’t even go outside of her house. The only people she can be with are her mom, her nurse and sometimes professors. She is spending her time learning online, reading books and also spends time with her mom and a nurse. It is all going the same until one day a boy moves into a house next to Madeline’s. From the moment their eyes locked on that day, Madeline’s life was never the same.
Love is worth everything. Everything.”
The premise of the book was intriguing and definitely something I haven’t read before. The story was interesting and it kept my interest until the story line towards the end fell flat for me. The writing was good and I enjoyed reading about Madeline and Oliver’s relationship, even though at the end it wasn’t as good as at the beginning.
“Life is a gift. Don’t forget to live it.”
